Located at the Family Partnership Center in Poughkeepsie, NY the Financial Development Center, an Extension of Heritage Financial Credit Union, is here to provide confidential, no–cost financial counseling that can help guide you on your financial journey
Our counselors work with you to help identify your financial needs and goals and help create an action plan to support your financial empowerment. They can also help community members connect with safe and affordable HFCU financial products and services.

What is a CDFI certification?
Community Development Financial Institution
We earned our Community Development Financial Institution (“CDFI”) certification from the U.S. Department of Treasury’s CDFI Fund in December of 2019.
A CDFI helps promote access to capital and local economic growth in low income and developing communities across the nation.
This designation allows us to successfully pursue our purpose – providing equal access to the tools, resources and opportunities for learning for improved financial health for all communities, no matter their socio-economic standing.
HFCU is one of 20 CDFI Credit Unions in New York and the ONLY CDFI Credit Union in the Hudson Valley region.

Heritage Financial Credit Union is bringing Banzai, a premium financial literacy program, to educators and students in your area for FREE. Teach real-world finance and practical life experience.
